Camarillo Acoustic-music fans to hold song circle The Camarillo Song Circle will meet from 6:30-10 p.m. Tuesday at a location for guests and members only. Embroidery guild to weave on huck The Channel Islands Chapter of the Embroiderers’ Guild of America will meet at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, 291 Anacapa Drive. Rosarian will talk about hybridizing The Ventura County Rose Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Ventura County Office of Education Conference Center, 5100 Adolfo Road. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for advice from rosarians and refreshments. There will be a little rose show at 7 p.m. The presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. Christian Bedard, research director for Weeks Roses in Pomona, will talk about his new roses and his hybridizing work. Ojai Sierra Club to host Oktoberfest party The Ventura Sierra Club will hold an Oktoberfest party from 1-5 p.m. Oct. 26 at Camp Comport, 11969 N. Creek Road. The club will grill hot dogs and provide apple cider, soda, paper plates, cups and plastic eating utensils. Each guest or couple should bring an appetizer, salad, vegetable dish or dessert to share with four or five people. Dancers from the West Valley Folk Dancing Club will demonstrate German country dances in costume and then teach simple line dances. A hike leader will lead an easy walk near the park. The club requests a $7 donation for adults and $4 for each child younger than 12. Oxnard Big band musicians to perform Sunday The Channel Cities Jazz Club will host The Jimmy McConnell Big Band from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at The Corinthian Pacifica Yacht Club, 2600 S. The group will then explore the sod fields for pipits and plovers, then move down Arnold Road to look for warblers and sparrows.
